Look, I'm not crazy about Joe Biden either, but we've got Kamala as a backstop, and I can't imagine that throwing our own race into last-minute chaos is going to help with the casual voters we need to get to the voting booth. But you do you Dem Party.

I cannot recommend this thread more highly. Alas it's on Twitter and the author hasn't imported it here, but it is superb. Part of it is below, but the entire thing is worth reading. x.com/drvolts/stat...

Ideally I want a younger ticket, more diversity, more progressive, not sending bombs to Israel to massacre Gaza. But changing lead horses in July of an election year? No fucking way for that to end in anything but defeat and defeat could mean no real elections again ever. Jesus.

Reminds me of Bullock's last-minute vanity Presidential run pivot to Senate

His response to Gaza is a real issue, and while he's mostly atoned for Anita Hill, his inaction on the Supremes is also deeply concerning. I do find him compelling as a compassionate example of the kind of lefty Catholicism I grew up in, and it's a solid administration. For whom I'll vote no matter

Yes,, the Gaza/Israel thing has rattled me, and I wish he'd be more supportive of reforming the court. But boy, when he beat Obama to the punch in supporting same-sex marriage when he was VP, I just swooned.

That was a long time ago. I agree with folks saying he should go, my quibble is with the timing.

Disagree here about all of it.
