This is what has me fantasizing about unionizing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. "We can't pay you, but you'll get exposure!"
Charlotte Jones: "(the cheerleaders) have a chance to feel like they’re valued, that they’re special and that they are making a difference." Emphasis on *feel* as distinct from actually being valued and correspondingly compensated for work generating profits for the Cowboys.

"NFL cheerleaders make less than NFL water boys, who make about $53,000 per year, and team mascots, who earn approximately $25,000 per season." One DCC cheerleader describes making a salary equivalent to a full-time Chick-Fil-A employee.

These women — who are trained in dance and are in CRAZY good shape — should be receiving real salaries and a cut of cheerleader merch.
