How do we feel about Harry ownership on the part of the Hendersons? It feels unethical to just make a domestic Sasquatch fuck back off into the woods, but isn’t the alternative problematic too? We can’t just go around appropriating Sasquatches and it’s long past time we admit it

I never saw it as ownership since he could have decapitated them all in a single swing at any moment.

But there were other elements to the power dynamic! We can’t know how pressured that Harry felt It’s just all so sad

This is why you couldn’t make Harry and the Hendersons in 2024.

Fun fact, John Lithgow was actually playing the same character in both Harry and the Hendersons and Dexter Fucker went off the RAILS he missed that Squatch so much

I cried at the end of it recently. I don't think they owned him (especially since he was barely at their house). I don't think he was domesticated yet either. Feral maybe. The squelches had a culture of some sort as seen in the last scene of the movie. It was beyond a pack/herd. /end nerd

Once they took him in they were accepting the responsibility. He can't survive out there on his own, it's cruel.
