So who were the five smartest presidents, intellectually? I'd say Lincoln, Jefferson, Wilson, Hoover, JQA #6 would be a Nixon/Clinton tie if you're curious

Can't argue with that much, but I may add Garfield and Adams in at #6 with Nixon and Clinton

Wilson, Hoover, Nixon, Carter and Clinton are at the top for 20th C. Presidents no doubt
