iOS still has a photo deletion bug.
First image is from the Photos app. There is no photo between Philip J. Fry (orange chonk) and Steve (getting bellyrubs in my lap)
Second image is from the photo picker in apps like Bluesky.
Notice the additional photo between the cats?

That photo was saved from a webpage on May 30, then deleted.
My Recently Deleted album has been cleared since then.
It is not visible in Photos, but it is visible in photo pickers and can be selected. It’s not in iCloud, Photos, or Files, but it still exists on my iPhone. Here it is:
Update: after a restart, this “lost” image did show up in Photos and could be deleted. Before restarting I toggled iCloud Photos off and on.
I know for a fact I deleted that image and emptied deleted photos after May 30, and I have restarted a few times as well.
