This motherhumper. Twice a year it’s something. Last winter the IGC’s spark igniter transformer ignited itself. Burned clean off the board. This summer, so far, one of the condenser fan motors died. It was randomly blowing up 24V transformers for a while there. It’s only 12 years old!

“This man is in no condition to fuck a sheep” I lost it at that.

Holy fuck I do not know how HVAC tradespeople do this shit every day. Replaced a dead condenser fan motor on a Carrier package unit. (With one fan down the other just pulls air in one hole and out the other, not through the coils.) The entire top was too hot to touch because of the sun. I’m dead.

Sooo… For a whole-home DVR solution I was using NextPVR on a win10 box with a CableCARD in it. Was working well enough, the Apple TV app was only $7. But then I realized Schedules Direct has gone up to $35/yr just for the EPG, and a year of Plex Pass is $40. And holy crap, is Plex nice!

I wonder if there could be fully decentralized social media where users self-host their own data on a device or in the cloud. Pub/sub is via brokers that are cryptographically blind to the social graph and content. Basically how TOR works, but queueing and delivering posts/DMs instead of IP traffic.
