Interesting routing algorithms in use on broadcom's fabric. Most of these seem to be in-line/in the data path (in contrast to a central controller making decisions) but unfortunately aren't quite interoperable or standards-based (yet, at least, that might be in the works) #NFD32

Broadcom talking about Linear Pluggable Optics (LPOs) which remove the DSP and have tuned drivers that allow you to use much less power (and have lower latency). I think that this comes at the cost of reach, but in a DC/HPC application, that doesn't matter as much. #NFD32
