I finally got the point that the reason non Americans are into American politics is that American politics are shoved in their face constantly due to America’s cultural hegemony & America is actively harming the entire rest of the world. So their interest in our politics is normal & fine.
i would love to pay more attention to my own collapsing democratic institutions rn, but even if ours gets cleaned up we're still right next door to giant flaming stupid even on a good day
