Almost nobody freaking out about Biden thinks that Harris can clinch the election. That's the issue.

And I think this reveals a lot more about their own biases than any faults of Harris.

On the contrary, I think it reveals just how deeply unserious these Remove Biden discussions are. There is no poll in which she is ahead, even against other named Democrats.

I think that’s largely down to a lack of exposure and a weak portfolio; it’s something she could overcome more easily than Biden can overcome his age issue. Of course it’s risky, but so is the current course.

Not according to polling, which has been shifting to Biden, and initial post-debate focus group responses.

As I said last night, it’ll be ridiculous for Biden to step down just because journalists say so before he gets a good grasp of his own internals. But I do hope he and his campaign take a good look at the numbers.
