I have read the Kane stories. I wish there was a lot less racism. It’s beyond just dated language and colonial mentality. I wish there was more of the wit of one of the lines of the first story I read, which I thought might be a hallmark of the stories. It is very much not. 1/2

For me, Solomon Kane is a visual character. All his strength is in his look. That juxtaposition of warrior puritan that is so intriguing is never really explained in any meaningful way. Kane truly lives in visual art, IMHO. Want to know more about Kane? Find every illustration you can. 2/2
