Riding herd on the sheep/goat flock on the Rez can be fun, boring, windy, cold, or hot. It can also remind you of Mother Nature - we lost a lamb today to a coyote, not 500 feet from where I was at. Sigh.
Mama & lamb drifted away from the flock & dogs to an arroyo area, which she has a BAD habit of doing, and her lamb paid the price. Not her first lost one either. I don’t hate the little coyote - it’s life - but I’m sad. Twas a sweet lamb.
