and on the topic of your post, your skeet & blog post have just inspired this Canadian living abroad to revisit the question of whether or not ai have the right to vote in Canadian elections as a US resident. I am happy to report the answer is YES. www.elections.ca/content.aspx...

It’s a worrisome election looming ahead, and, contrary to the opinions of some, voting is always a privilege and and obligation. I missed one federal election for administrative reasons and it bugged me for years afterwards. Thanks for making the effort.

I missed one provincial election. I was immersed in my work for a deadline and when I finally left the office the polls were closed. Bob Rae was elected anyway.

Hear hear! AND it irks me how much our sense of what Democracy is seems to be reduced to just voting in elections. Voting’s like the bread in a sandwich. When IS this looming Canadian election? This here brain needs a deadline to get anything from ☑️ to ✅ … esp where adulting is concerned.

Sometime by Oct 2025, and given recent polling (negative for Libs, positive for Cons), an early vote seems unlikely, unless NDP stop propping up the Liberals, who only have a minority govt.
