We all know that trying to shoot a white bird at a distance will make details blow out by overexposure. Egrets look like a piece of Styrofoam at the end of the reach of my lens. Shy they like to keep their distance so tracking one made the last shot here a good finish to my day at the marsh. #birds

I've noticed that, but it didn't occur to me that overexposure was the explanation. Nice shots!

Thanks. Once the image is overexposed the details are lost. BUT if you stop the lens down 2/3 of a stop or more, most of the image will be very dark but the details in the whites will be there, after that you can use your image editor to tweak things.
