Pianist Martina Consonni has a Πάντα ῥεῖ ("everything flows," attributed to Heraclitus) tattoo. Brilliant phrase for music making!

Really enjoying these Reinecke piano concertos, a composer new to me.
Fewer fireworks from the soloist, more integration between the piano and the orchestration. I guess I like that?
Think of the prose draft as the walls of a house. Then Vergil did a coat of paint on different wall sections, not in order, until the whole house had a first coat.
Then he applied a 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc coat on some parts, & died before a final coat on all.

Heard the BWV 825 Prelude this morning and because I have no discipline at all with this hobby, put it back on the stand (I learned it once) to compete with my actual practice work (Schumann's Papillons).
A truly magnificent work of art, this. #Bach
Ugh, don't want to use the metronome on this part. Will slow everything down! 🎹
[repeats opinion for three more practices]
