I've been lamenting this for awhile.
I just abandoned Meta, because of the blitzkrieg AI scraping of art it unleashed last month.
Facebook was very useful for selling books, so it's not a "so what?" A lot of comics folk were there.
Twitter is finished. Insta is Meta. So now what?

I understand that this is anecdotal and not research, but.
It is WILD how useless social media has become for promo. It's a fucking disgrace, really.
Because they hate artists and creativity. They want to consume us to make us into product, but eating everything we’ve ever made assumes there’s a formula that’s repeated within that work - a basic miscomprehension of how imagination works. They know the alphabet, but they’re illiterate.
