Restocked a few books, and got copies of a new one, Heather Mayer's "Beyond the Rebel Girl: Women and the Industrial Workers of the World in the Pacific Northwest, 1905-1924," which features chapters on Seattle anarchists Becky Beck and Louise Olivereau.

On July 6, 1968 Enrico Travaglio died. Travaglio was a tireless anarchist agitator, printer, and publisher. He edited and published several anarchist newspapers, including Tacoma’s “Why?”, which we’ve anthologized in a single hardback edition. louisecrowleylibrary.org/why

On July 4, 1997, the Animal Liberation Front freed 4000 mink from the David Smith Mink Farm in Cle Elum, Washington. The farm did not survive this action.

On July 2, 1967, Floyd Turner was convicted of burning an American flag, despite the fact that Seattle anarchist Stan Iverson admitted burning the flag with another man. Eventually the Washington Supreme Court exonerated Turner. louisecrowleylibrary.org/stan-iverson
