Gotta say, I think my writing improved a lot when I finally stopped caring about whether I could get it published or not. Certainly my pleasure in writing grew, if nothing else, and I count that as a win.
I like the things I write and my friends who I share my writing with like it and sometimes people I don’t know from Adam read and like it and that’s pretty good, I think.
Same. I told myself it allowed me to be more open in writing like my favorite works and authors, but I think it’s helped me also hone my own voice and breadth of what I try to do.
Yeah I think the mindset switch really helped me with self-censoring and putting the cart before the horse. I feel like my writing is more authentic now for sure.
