Alone (the survival TV show) statistics:
1: Each season is very different
2: Canadians do noticeably better than Americans
(Only 4 contestants were not from the US or Canada -- one was Mexican, and he did extremely well, so Other looks pretty good)
3: Very slight correlation between your home latitude and days survived
(I thought maybe people from warm places wouldn't do well in cold weather)
4: People with an outdoors-related job actually survive *fewer* days compared to those who do not (31 vs 40)
5: Tool choice doesn't seem to matter a huge amount, except for really unusual choices like not bringing a pocket knife
6: Age matters a lot less than you would think, literally zero correlation here
7: AND NOW FOR THE ONE EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW, BATTLE OF THE SEXES
Women do substantially better than men -- 46 days vs 36 days average
