One of my fav childhood memories was being at a game park where tiger cubs were being fed. They let kids take turns with the bottle and the one I was feeding fell asleep in my lap.
Their carers were so impressed w/ how calm & quiet I was, they left me there after shoeing out the rest of the kids.
And yes, as an adult, I realise this isn't the best for poor cubs. It was the 80s, people were not as clued up.
But I was a kid and it was amazing. They are so, incredibly soft, and they purr and it is fab.
I also fed a baby bear. They are not soft and their long nails do not retract.
In baby bears' defence, they were angels, and look very cute trying to hold their bottle as they stand on their hind legs. Nor did they actually try to use their startling long and thick nails to harm anybody.
Again...probably NOT a good thing in today's animal conservation practices.
i'm genuinely so excited. tigers are my favorite animals and having cubs is important to their conservation and preservation, since they're endangered in the wild. Plus: i get to see tiger cubs.
