You are most kind. Your work is amazing! How long have you been stitching? Are there any resources for learning you’d strongly recommend?

Thank you! I started in 2016, though I’ve sewed all my life & had done some Ukrainian cross stitch in my teens. TBH, I spent a lot of time on Instagram when I first started and found instructions online for the stitches I wanted to learn. I was quite ill at the time so spent many hours stitching!

Reminds me of some of the embroidery the Stasi did. An odd juxtaposition of form and subject.

…what sort of embroidery did the Stasi do? The juxtaposition here is part of the effort.

Doilies and napkins celebrating Stasi anniversaries and such. I’ve also seen a silk (?) scarf marking the 10th anniversary of the “Anti-Fascist Protection Barrier.” I’m morally certain there are other similar delights floating around out there.
