Uhhh. I just reported a random racist comment on Facebook and these are now the options they gave me for what I was reporting. Hope someone is writing a dissertation or something about “seems like terrorism” because that is a very weird category and a lot to unpack. Who is that option for?

“Seems like terrorism” is what dogs say about fireworks, like…one cannot do terrorism on the internet so this is just a helpful category for people to profile and brigade Muslims, or?

plus they change the categories constantly! When a large part of my job was reporting abuse on Facebook it felt like I could never find the same reporting mechanism twice, and suddenly common forms of abuse wouldn’t have a category and then they’d just tell you “whoops guess that’s not abuse then”

These reporting flows are terrible(I used to work in this area @ Meta). That tag is intended to allow reporting of (illegal per US gov) terrorist financing ops etc. 100% ineffective processes though
