Hey, remember when Trump tried to get Comey to "let this go" with the investigation of Michael Flynn? And then Robert Mueller was like "Hey, congress, here's some very clear obstruction. I am sure you'll do the right thing." Turns out, it was all very cool and very legal.

Chief Justice Roberts decrees the end of DOJ independence in an offhanded sentence on page 20.

You do not need to read the entirety of today's 119-page opinion in Trump v. US. All you need to read is this paragraph from Justice Sotomayor in dissent:

Crazy to me that "when does the statute of limitations begin to accrue" has now become an ideological decision divorced from any actual legal analysis. There's no way you can have logically consistent reasoning leading to "never" for administrative challenges and "decades ago" for civil suits.

1/ The first punch was Friday's Loper Bright decision axing Chevron deference. Today, SCOTUS (6-3, natch) rules that Koch-funded grounds can magic up a plaintiff years or decades after agencies promulgate regulations & the statute of limitations is no bar. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...
