Catching this thread on the day that I’m revamping a media theory syllabus is very helpful. Probably going to add Arendt, too.

I’m not a media theory person but I always that USians need to teach more from Global South/lefty scholars since the syllabi here are quite Eurocentric and as if everything happens only to Europe or US and history stops at WWII. Just sayin’ (or griping, take your pick LOL)

It's certainly something I need to be mindful of. This course syllabus will hopefully be a good starting point for correcting that, at least in my own work.

His work changed my life. No exaggerating -- a huge influence on me, and an antidote to a lot of the gringo conditioning I'd undergone in my own schooling. Happy that post resonated with you 🙂
