Plastic should also be fine. Anything nonporous and dishwasher safe.

But plastic isn't really nonporous. It can stain and hold smells.

That depends on the plastic. I've only really had that happen with polypropylene tubberware type containers. Most plastics are nonporus but there are exceptions.

I’m not trusting any plastic to be that sterile. Hospitals gave up on running metal & glass through autoclaves to be cheap and lazy by using all plastic shit, which is then disposed of in landfills.

(Honestly yeah, from a cleanliness standpoint its not actually risking anything esp if you put it through the dishwasher)

They make metal buckets or trash cans, that wash out and sanitize very easily. Very useful for pregnant people, in my family’s experience.

If you have one of these, your stainless steel mixing bowl can stay with the stand mixer
