new from me: I wrote about how with two decisions — repealing Chevron and granting Trump immunity — John Roberts has managed to completely rewrite the relationship between the judiciary and the other two federal branches

"In opinions that on the surface show deference to Congress and the president, Roberts has managed to consolidate an unprecedented amount of power in the only branch of government that is entirely unelected."

There's no two ways about it. One of the major reform efforts of the next few decades of American politics needs to be reining in the Supreme Court. They've overstepped their role in our political system and this power Roberts now wields is not tethered to the framers' original intent.

it's also enabled the president to completely ignore them if they hold at least one chamber of congress....which oddly we do.....

It is really a large stalemate when push comes to shove without 2/3 of a Senate willing to impeach which side they think is going too far. SCOTUS can make rulings and POTUS can ignore them. Everything downstream can pick a side with little consequence.

At first I thought this too, but honestly, if rump got back into power, and any SCOTUS justice put a toe out of line, that mean SOB would probably try to execute them & claim immunity; so really they have made themselves POTUS' ultimate slaves. 0_o
