If I were a right wing operative this would be the perfect time to float some false photos and reports to the media. They’re in a feeding frenzy, chances are pretty good they won’t fact check shit.
I got a degree in Journalism, and I took a class on journalism ethics, and this failure by the reporters to do the hard work of fact-checking angers me something fierce. And it's been like this for decades now. >:-(
I suspect so-called “journalists” may never have been educated in journalism. Maybe they have a literature degree or similar. Because I don’t understand how how ANYONE who has taken an ethics class and works in the journalistic field wouldn’t do their due diligence. Is laziness that prevalent?
It’s almost like the Times are willingly allowing themselves to be a conduit for disinformation. Taking a set of facts and inferring a conclusion that doesn’t follow at all from what they’ve reported.
