I daren't dabble when there's an expert close to hand but in my humble opinion, homemade jerky is best jerky. Now I think I may have to make it myself. I haven't for almost thirty years.

I suspect I need more protein. This would be a way to do it.

Can't hurt. Beans and rice (brown) together make a complete protein at a much lower cost than meat.

Relatedly, I have the ingredients on the counter for another batch of lentil soup. I want to get back into Indian cooking, which is the right combination of tasty, nutritious, and not too onerous to prepare. Just need to summon willpower to stand
