I always tell the staff who I am and what I'm doing- otherwise it just looks like a random wild-eyed rag-pile scribbling in their stock rather than the specific rag-pile who wrote the book scribbling in their stock.

You know, the crossover of fountain pen fans and folks who are attending the Nebulas this weekend has got to be a thing... Vroman's Bookstore, which is walking distance from the hotel where the Nebulas are being held, has, SO MANY fountain pens, and they'll let you dip test!

Crafts for fountain pen fans! This is a fountain pen wiper based in a Victorian design. I did the simplest version, but these get super fancy. It won't help your big spills, but it's fantastic for the few drops that escape when refilling.

I think I'm 42 this year, and I have found my place in society: I'm the person who takes pictures of families on vacation. If I see someone trying to gather folks for a group shot, I cannot stop myself from saying "You want one with all of you together?"
