Everyone on the Left rushing out to condemn political violence - Obama, Fetterman, Pelosi - and every condemnation has a dual effect to elevate Trump, someone who seemed okay with his VP being hanged. There’s no need to be performative about condemning it. We know it’s bad.

Hot takes are always terrible, but I’m seeing all decent people on the Left going “poor President Trump” and “violence is never acceptable” and while they’re right it feels tonally and symbolically (and yes this is SM and we don’t do nuance) like an absolution for Jan 6.
