Jimmy Eat World did not get permission to rip as hard as they do in the end of this song, but they did it anyways, in the faces of the rock gods they did it, fucking legends

I just got to Goodbye Sky Harbor in this show, after digging through the YouTube archives for Static Prevails-era shows where they’re just playing on the floor in a room full of teenagers. 90s Jimmy was wild. They always went hard. Maybe even harder.
I loved this when it came out, I'm so glad they did Clarity
and I love Goodbye Sky Harbor, now that I live in PHX when I fly out of town I listen to it as the plane taxis and takes off, it's one of my post-religious meaning rituals 🥰🎶🛫
I did a live “festival” online in 2020 with one of my bands. And I’ve played shows for college TV, where you’re playing just to an audience of 3 camera people plus however many imaginary people at the other end of the wires. It’s _always_ weird.
When Jim says dumb things between songs, I get it.
oh totally, it feels so weird to be with just a few people instead of a concert-full of people and act like a regular human, it just changes the vibe, it feels weird not to acknowledge it, it's almost endearing as a musician to hear that.. playing live is a weird little corner of human experience
