My personal feeling is that in cases of sexual assault "I'm going to wait to see what else develops" is a fine, but if you loudly announce that what you're seeing is inadequate and not enough and should not be believed by anyone, that's not waiting to see what else develops.
I'm not interested in arguing with people who have been doing this.
Please understand that the thing I think you're accomplishing, wittingly or not, is making people with stories feel like they can't come forward.
Not asking anyone to speak. Just saying, that if you do speak, and you speak loudly and repeatedly, you're actually not being a neutral "let's wait and see" person.
I have a lot on my plate right now. Coming forward to media and telling a story even about minor misconduct was incredibly hard.
And some of you are being *intensely* triggering.
