Just rewatched the movie a few weeks ago and my god does it hold up. So many incredible things about it but one particularly amazing thing is there is one scene of prologue, Gittes showing a client pictures of his wife cheating and the -boom we start on the caper and never stop.
All of Cross’ worst crimes occurring offscreen is so effective because he’s only got two or three scenes and knowing what he really is just makes all of his mannerisms and idiosyncrasies terrifying in a way they wouldn’t be otherwise
