So, among Black folks you'll sometimes hear us discuss around Black History Month and Juneteenth how nobody really agrees when slavery truly ended. Inevitably some White folks will show up to Whitesplain to us emancipation. We know, but we also know stories. Like this: www.wlbt.com/2024/06/28/w...
White couple accused of adopting Black children and forcing them to work as ‘slaves’www.wlbt.com A couple is facing several charges in a child neglect case in West Virginia.

even scarier that they moved to West Virginia specifically because they knew they would be overlooked. Taking advantage of crumbling institutions to do the most evil racist thing you could do to a child

Fun fact: This year Florida passed a bill that exempts all homeschooled and virtual schooled children from time regulations on their permitted 30hr work week.

this is fucking insane. I get limited to 12 hours and I am in college!!! Why must we rip the childhood from people

Yep, and Florida is one of the top 5 states for homeschooling/virtual schooling. Granted they only have half the fostercare per capita of West Virginia, but that's because West Virginia has 3x the national average, no doubt filled with bad actors like these capitalizing on an overburdened system.

how is anyone supposed to tackle such a broken system it feels insurmountable

Hi, #adoptee here. In my adoption file it states that my Christian adopters wanted a child with university potential. How does one determine uni potential in a new born? In 1968, it was code for white. My adopters were racist evangelicals and my adoption file proclaims it. Adoption is racist. 🥚

Should be legal to sh**t these kinds of people on sight I'm sorry that's just how I feel that's heinous

Not to put too fine a point on it, but lock them up and throw away the motherfuckin’ key.

Pretty sure that the "slavery is fine during incarceration" 13th amendment clause means that slavery hasn't ended yet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirtee...
