Agree the media should do a much better job of explaining the stakes of the election and Trump’s explicit threats to basic institutions. That said, I simply don’t understand how, post-debate, anyone can write a sentence like this: "They are not reporting that he is a loser; they are making him one.”

Solnit piece also blames media/pundits, when in fact it’s mass public that’s been most concerned about age. Obviously news conferences are important, but agree with the Guardian author it's less surprising that someone with a speech disability gives fewer. Didn't we already hash these points? The main things are a) his administration needs credit for governing well & b) Dems need to get elected.
