i have to say i think those were only in the bill because it was known that manchin and sinema would oppose it. without the opposition, the policy would never have made it that far. that’s how it works.
Policies in Biden's Build Back Better proposal that would've passed w/ Manchin and Sinema's support: - Universal & free preschool for all 3 & 4 year olds - A limit on child-care expenses to 7% of family income - Child Tax Credit of $300/month for children in poverty - Paid family & medical leave

do you have any evidence of that?

They absolutely killed the child tax credit and @nycsouthpaw.bsky.social and I have fairly extensive detail on this in our book.

Some of the stuff from our BBB chapter. And there's more in here ---> bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

I reposted this to get the pages in order

But question is: were those pieces put in the bill with the knowledge they’d be a poison pill to Manchin/Sinema? The OP (not Max) is insinuating that whoever drafted the bill wanted it killed.

Check the screen caps I posted. That really doesn't comport with the process we learned about in conversation with senators, House members, and Hill/WH aides

I had to repost to fix the order.
