My theory is most editors and journalists at many higher echelon media hail from the same backgrounds at the universities where it’s a huge deal. Meanwhile most students are doing finals/are done with finals and moving on to the summer.

One great effect of this might be in allowing dispensaries to accept credit cards instead of the current cash only model. That cash only model opens the door to abuses and robberies which endanger the people working there.

Robbing the weed guy has a long pedigree. No reason to imagine it would be less appealing once everyone knows where the weed guy is because he has a huge sign.

In LA they have ATM functionality, but if your amount isn’t exact they round up to the nearest 20 and give you change in cash.

Does that mean you are paying with your debit card? In VA they have an ATM on site (with a fee for withdrawals) so you can give them the cash.

This is a huge issue. Eliminating marijuana from Shedule I of the CSA will also change the application of IRS 280e which applies to Schedule I and II drugs. this will allow medical and recreational producers, processors and retailers to deduct expenses like any normal, legal business.

National media outlets make more money when you are angry or scared, because those emotions lead you to make more irrational spending decisions, so they're not very interested in covering things that might make you feel good and relax a little.
