First Past the Post has given Starmer such brainworms that he thinks this landslide is bc of something he did, rather than catastrophic collapse of the Tories into a party so incapable of governing that one of their prevous PMs tanked the economy within a fornight & was outlasted by a lettuce
And the one before that personally murdered everyone's gran during Covid through his inability to function like a grownup. And the one before that was rated worst prime minister ever, until the next two.
Labour has so totally failed to make a case for an open & tolerant society, that they have created a racist political consensus that has only bolstered the far right.
Would be great to see a breakdown of how many of these new Labour wins are due to the votes split by the surge to the far right. If so, we'd be able to see pretty clearly that it's not some great strategy by Labour other than to destroy the left and democracy in general in the long term.
We hope that Sir Keir governs as actual Labour, instead of as a Tory in Labour clothes. Otherwise fringe parties like Reform etc will replicate what's happened in much of the European continent.
