I've seen reporters from at least three separate outlets (CNN, WSJ, BI) all use the same language to say that trump is "distancing" himself from Heritage, which to them means that he has successfully fended off the issue and there's no reason to talk about it anymore
seems like some follow up questions are in order

look at how they've all closed ranks about this to tell you about how he has the last word on this - it's like they're in a Slack channel with Susie Wiles and coordinating their talking points with her
Oh so they DO read his Truth Social profile? That's weird because you think they might have mentioned the post he made about a military tribunal for Liz Cheney
"I wish them luck" would also normally be read as an endorsement of the plan.

It doesn't even make sense. Their whole project is about how they plan to staff his administration, and since we know he doesn't have his own Rolodex of hundreds of political appointees, we know he's going to use theirs. That's what they're there for!

Thank you. It's not as if saying "Trump _tries_ to distance himself from Project 2025" would be hard or unprecedented.
