No. My understanding of Florida law is that they use the state of conviction for determining disenfranchisement, and IIRC New York only disenfranchises during active jail time (which Trump is unlikely to get)
I agree with your analysis, but I do not have an opinion about whether Justice Merchan is likely to impose a jail sentence on Donald Trump. One important factor will be the recommendation of the DA. If they don't recommend incarceration, I cannot imagine the judge imposing it. If they do, who knows?
The only thing that I know *for certain* about the future is that it has not happened yet.
I would not be surprised, at all, if Justice Merchan imposed a significant period of community service as part of a sentence, if he chooses not to incarcerate.
Merchan should sentence him to serve as council member Yusef Salaam's administrative assistant, for the ultimate ironic twist
