Danish Go-Rounds (1968-1976): Kellogg's attempt to market a toaster pastry to adults--referring to them as 'toaster pastries, all grown up,'-- these spiraled ropes of dough were filled with a fruit filling and topping with icing.
Flavors included cinnamon raisin, strawberry, blueberry, honey crunch, brown sugar cinnamon, and orange. Kellogg's leaned into evoking a cozy, whimsical European bakery in the ads, as well: "It could have happened in Copenhagen"
Orange was weirdly popular back then, like the orange frosting that came with the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. I vaguely remember the cinnamon ones, they were indeed good
Not when you consider the fact that it was "greats of the past" which would have been a nostalgia for baseball's "golden age" when adults in this era would have been kids
Ah so even MORE to the point! This was aimed at people in their 50'/60's, as well as their Boomer children who had grown up hearing about these players like gods
they're for sophisticated adults, so the baseball card that comes included in your breakfast is for a retired player, not one of these long haired 70s brats that doesn't respect the game.
I was curious about those as well, the cards released in the early 1970s range from $1.25 to about $15 on eBay, although I didn’t see anyone like Ruth, Gehrig, or Mantle.
