My college is doing a joint hire
with government and politics for an assistant professor in politics and data science. Tenure home is INFO. Hired the brilliant Fiona Shen-Bayh last year for the reverse gig (GVPT tenure home). I'm not on the committee but happy to talk. Good place to work. #polsky
It's hard going but yeah we're transitioning away. As everyone could've told the movement in 2004: no one has any idea what it means, it sounds like 'high school', and even if you do recognize it, it's immediately dated to 2004.
