Tomorrow my birthday month starts. This year I'm filling it with things that bring me joy. Right at the top of that list is poetry. I'm inviting you to join me in crafting poetry throughout July. I've even made myself a prompt calendar. Will you join me? #Poetry #poem #WritingCommunity #KidLit

Could be a haiku, could be an acrostic, could be a limerick. No limit on what sort of poetry you decide to use. You don't even have to use the word in the poem, just use that to prompt your inspiration.

Love your idea! I'm not a poet but writing poetry is really rewarding.

Do you also do Birthday Month (TM)?? July is my spouse's, not mine, but it's still pretty fun to do silly "Birthday Month demands." Except for July kiddo bedtime, where I have to read the Disney movie retellings our princesses pick out while he gets to read them any shorter/newer/more fun books

I haven’t previously. But I’ve regularly struggled with a bit of depression around birthdays so I decided this year I was going to build in things I love. Glimmers of joy. The things that keep me grounded and soul-filled. Reading and writing poetry is a big way to do that for me. ❤️

I hear that. The other best thing about Birthday Month (TM) is it takes the pressure off each single day. We leaned hard into it with preemie twins and again in early covid. We couldn't go out or do things and were so worn thin that getting to drop one chore, ask for a pump up, pick the CD was joy.
