I'm rewatching Beverly Hills Cop II* and I feel like "Eat the floor!" is very 1987. Do robbers still say that? There's something very late 80s about that phrase, somehow. *Do watch BHC:AF if you liked I and II. Just pretend III didn't happen; it's better that way. But IV is great.

If anyone out there in Blueskyland is having problems opening Excel, Word, Powerpoint, or any Office app (as in, you click the button and it doesn't open at all), check your C-Cleaner. Open C-Cleaner, go to Performance Optimizer, and see if C-Cleaner has put Office to sleep. Because 🤬

I am making vanilla syrup. My instructions say to put in half the water and sugar at first, then the rest at the end. But then I had to open a new bag of sugar and wash the sugar canister. There is no possibility that the right amount of either sugar or water is in the mixture.

What a terrific photo.

Tomorrow will be four weeks since the mysterious puncture through my fingernail. I am OVER this. I want full use of my finger back! I want a fingernail that doesn't need to be covered because it snags! I want correctly proportioned use of my other fingers!

My middle school had a 15min required reading period. Not just the students: teachers, admin staff, even the janitor was required to sit and read for that 15min. Visitors to campus were provided with a selection of magazines. I hope they still do it. A lot of kids learned how to enjoy reading then.

Our household made a decision to have a 45 minute reading party every night after dinner—has to be a book we haven't read, has to be for pleasure. We just sit in the same room & read. My mom comes over & the dog jumps up to sleep next to her. It's now the part of the day I most look forward to.

Ffs. The official fireworks show put on by my city started a vegetation fire... for the third time since 2021....

Finally got fed up with my adorable shoes falling off and I ripped out the sewn-in original velcro and stuck on some super-sticky velcro to replace it. One of those "putting it off for 6 months, done in under an hour" jobs, but IT'S DONE!
