First, blender is improving so much and I’m so happy about. But also it is so funny how 90% of blender’s usability issues are due to attempts to do things differently than the industry standard. Standards aren’t always best, but they *are* transferable.
HOLY FUCK SOMEONE FIXED BLENDERS SHIT UI AND MADE IT USABLE BY HUMANS WITHOUT INVESTING A SHIT TON OF TIME JUST KNOWING WHERE THE SINGLE OPTION YOU NEED IT FOR IS OR LEARN 300 GODSDAMNED SHORTCUTS RESKEETED TO THE MAX HOLY SHIT

Are adobe’s workflows the best? No. God no. Are they supported by tons of learning resources and many professionals who have gotten very efficient in using them and won’t see any benefit from learning something entirely new? Holy shit yes.

I say all of this as a frequent writer of GLSL and user of Houdini/TouchDesigner. I am very accustomed to poorly-standardized and unusual interfaces for creating work. Blender’s learning curve - especially the mouse functionality for selecting/orbiting - sucks real bad.
