Kansas is, if you can believe it, not as hot as Texas. I can't believe it but that's just because I'm sweltering through a Kansas summer and it's been twenty years since I've done that in Texas.

I believe you. I grew up without AC in Kansas City and rural Northeast Kansas. That sucked, but last year's heat dome coupled with our normal humidity was surreal. I had to water trees daily to keep them alive. We had a cool, rainy Spring and then the faucet shut off for months.
