This is going to continue happening as everything gets hotter. Seattle had problems similar to this during the 2021 heat dome. Climate change is an *infrastructure problem* along with all the other types of problems.
How hot is NYC? A bridge got stuck open. The vertical clearance of the bridge is only about 25 feet. The Harlem River connects with the East River at its southern end and the Hudson at its northern end. Video is from the executive producer of the NBC affiliate in NYC. tweet: x.com/JesseJHamilt...

Portland had a bunch of transportation and power infrastructure straight up melt in the last heatwave. California isn’t ready for double the rainfall in extreme weather events.

I had the pleasure of driving through 119° heat in Redding on Saturday. I didn't know if my engine was overheating or it really was that hot outside until I got to my hotel and saw the news.

Stopped in Medford for lunch and gas and it was 109°. Stopped using A/C after Eugene. Too many hills and mountains until Redding. Saw so many cars pulled over with their hoods up.

I travel all over the place and the previous hottest temperature I have ever felt was 118° in Phoenix in '13 and a few 116°s. I'm worried for our immediate future.

Imagine trying to cool down your trailer in 124° Palm Springs. Like a $2000 monthly electric bill.
