The thing is, when people talk about escaping the US, I can't help but be reminded of fire escape plans where people in wheelchairs are told to stay in the burning building and wait for the firefighters. It's not quite the same thing, but that's what pops into my head.
Being accused of trolling for pointing out the reality that Disabled people who can't work literally cannot "escape" the US. Okay.

And the linked thought is mainstream Disaster Preparedness plans that tell Disabled people to do illegal or prohibitively expensive things in order to be prepared but don't actually provide what is needed.

I say this whenever it comes up, but I would never argue that someone who is in danger in the US should stay here just because I (someone who is a member of multiple targeted marginalized groups) am forced to stay here. It's not that.
