Ok so midlevel takeaways from this fiasco of a “debate”:
1) CNN’s design let their anchors be supine & abdicate any responsibility
2) This is a contest between confident, fluid lies & challenging policy tradeoffs
3) Ds shaking their heads & dismissing Rs doesn’t come across well on national TV
I understand, and don’t disagree per se, but I also understand the pressure that those two are likely under. They shouldn’t have let the subjects know they had more time though; “okay, your done? Next question.”
