Horrifying the web of complicity and failure to protect, or even consider, Andrea Skinner. Parents and step-parents obviously, but consider this Munro biographer who just decided to ignore her letters.
Simply no words. My heart breaks for Andrea Skinner. Well done to the Toronto Star for publishing this. www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

Reminds me of Pierre Berton admitting many years later that he knew all about the abuse of the Dionne quintuplets but left it out of his book.

I think there’s definitely an aspect of “Let’s not let the truth ruin a good story” in both. But worse, a systematic refusal to listen to women and children, to discount what they say, and to punish them, rather than their abusers, when they speak out.

THIS. Every single one of them - and especially the biographer- should be facing a social penalty. The smug tone in his replies, the intimation that Skinner was being vengeful and he was taking the high road. Blood boiling fury.

What is the source of this? If it's from the Star, it might have been an update, as the archived version I read did not include it.
