rarely have I ever been so stunned at a news revelation. And she stayed even after he pleaded guilty!

Writers can be such monsters. I had a friend in my 20s who was the daughter of 2 famous (at the time) writers. Her father paid one of his graduate students to have sex with my friend when she was 13 because "her first time should be meaningful".

My friend talked the student out of it (her parents had brought him to her room at night) and then was later yelled at by her mother because "this would have been the best way to learn". This was the point I decided writers should be treated with extreme caution.

This was such an awful and disturbing read yesterday .. not just that Munro forcefully hid these indictable assaults for ‘branding’ reasons, but also Gerald Fremlin seemed to have a strong pattern of underage sexual assault. I’m sure that many of Fremlin’s other victims may come forward now.
